Illo Friday - Spotted

Pen & Ink Wash

The Spotted American Eagle (Spotticus Eaglus)
The lesser known Spotted American Eagle, (or Leopard Eagle) has adapted to go virtually unnoticed in the dappled light of the forests in northern Wisconsin. A rarity to see, it has recently been placed at the top of the endangered species list.

Haha! I thought I was so funny. Turns out there really is a spotted american eagle. Course, he's not so polka dotted looking as mine. Ah well.

You had me going on this. And there really IS a spotted eagle? Perhaps a bit more subtle.

I love the drawing. Thanks for making me smile.

Gotcha! The big tip off should be my quite obviously phony latin name. ;)

Yeah, can you believe it, there really is one? Actually it isn't the spotted american eagle it is the greater spotted eagle or lesser spotted eagle. Here is a picture of a real one. But I totally thought I was making something ridiculous up. Ah well.

I like all the extra spotting on mine. Real ones hardly have any.

Elisabeth, read your post about getting reinspired and then came over to here. Love your work, and this IF entry. Keep it up. Salsa must inspire you too! :-)

Thanks rrramone! You know, I was so skeptical about blogging when I started but it has brought me such great things. I would have never thought it. Not only have I become reinspired, but I am getting art/design gigs out of it. (Well, none for sure yet, but there are people/companies interested in me doing some illustration & graphic design for them.) I never thought I would do this kind of art professionally, so it is so exciting for me. And it feels really satisfying to be creating, and so much!

Salsa soothes me more than it inspires me, but it does inspire me too. In fact I have been wanting to do some kind of salsa film for a while now. But who knows.
