Thanks Abby! I have a Nikon D80 and I'm still figuring out how to make the most of it. I'm taking so many photos while we're out here (and because I'm a parent) that photography has become the main art I'm working on by default. Previously I've mainly considered myself a painter/drawer with lofty dreams of becoming a filmmaker.
Oh and I'm learning that a lot of the quality of the image (other than composition, etc) can have a lot to do with the quality of the lens. I skimped on my first lens. Now I own a better 50mm lens, which is fun and nice for portraits and low light, but I'm finding it a little limiting otherwise.
I am kind of a Jane-of-all-trades. I graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film. I work as a videographer, salsa instructor, and artist. I am also an aspiring writer, and especially love writing children's stories and on topics related to film.
