GIMP.
Ugh. This took me all freakin day! I used this project to learn how to do vector drawings. This is my first one ever! I also had to learn several features on GIMP I had never tried before, such as creating patterns (which wasn't fun on the Mac.)
Anyway, I hope you enjoy this week's Illo-Friday submission. I call him "Tattoo Man."

Nice job for your first attempt at vector art... Don't give up on it, it is time consuming and tedious, but once you get used to it you can create some amazing stuff. I like the end result here, may have worked a little better if you had strengthened the tattoos on him to show a little better- I didn't see them on first glance... But nice job otherwise! UP WITH THE CREATIVITY!!!
Thanks! I agree about the tattoos, but by the time I got to the tattoos, I was just ready for this piece to be done, so I didn't fiddle as much as I should have.
I must confess, now doing more reading I come to understand that I have not created true vector art here. I used vector-based techniques, but still created what I am learning is called "raster art". Who knew. Oh I am so behind. And I thought I was pretty tech savvy. Who knew.
Maybe he could also be "Camoflauge Man!" He reminds me of those people you see in the super market wearing camoflauge. I want to bump into them and say,"Oh, I'm sorry...with that camoflauge on I didn't even see you!" LOL! You did wonderfully for a first!!
Cool image. I like your use of pattern.

This is so clever! Love it.
This is really unique, so detailed amd clever, with a good dose of creepy, sooooo sharp!!!
Well done! I like that he's wearing such ordinary clothes (with great fold in them) and he's gor weird ink on his face and neck! The patterns and the lamplight are great. Good job:>
Well worth your time. It looks awesome.

Vectors can certainly be time-consuming if you have to every shape by hand. Looks like you are doing well with it, though. Keep pluggin and learning!
